Confirm that I also see this behaviour on ubuntu 12.04 with mythtv v0.25 including very occasionally, and apparently randomly, seeing a partial contdown but never a 60, 90, 80, 70......countdown (which is, I believe, how it used to work). Shutdown still happens normally so not exactly a serious bug but nevertheless a loss of functionality that used to work perfectly and was a useful indicator of when the box was about to enter shutdown.

Instead it appears to update in 60s increments i.e. 120s......(one minute passes)......60s.........0s.......shutdown. Very occassionally I also see idle........ will shut down in 90s .............30s...............shutdown. I asked question on mythbuntu forum and another user confirmed same behaviour (they suggested "polling" was now set to 60s for some reason). Another user suggested I report as bug.
