Bug description:
Problem: mythtv 0.27.4+fixes.20150423.8f14d3d-0ubuntu0mythbuntu3 does
not install to unmet dependencies. Mythtv is missing mysql-server 5.6
as a possible dependency. Below is the error message I get on install.
The following packages have unmet dependencies:
mythtv : Depends: mysql-server but it is not going to be installed
E: Unable to correct problems, you have held broken packages.
Background:
This mythtv package is from the mythubuntu team ppa : deb
http://ppa.launchpad.net/mythbuntu/0.27/ubuntu trusty main
I am running an upgraded mysql-server: ii mysql-server-5.6
5.6.19-0ubuntu0.1 amd64 MySQL database server binaries and system
database set
My current solution to the problem:
1. I download the mythtv deb package
2. unpack the mythtv deb package
3. edit the file "control" and replace "mysql-server" with "mysql-server |
mysql-server-5.6"
4. repack the package and install
Request:
Have mythtv package look for mysql-server or mysql-server-5.6 as a dependency
Mysql-server-5.6 has been faster and more stable (no memory leakage) than 5.5
for me.
