I don't know much about the scheduler, but can you compile MythTV without
dvb-eit support and see if that makes the problem go away?
BTW it looks like ReiserFS v3 is 1500% to 5000% times worse than jfs at
file deletion.

I guess we really should point this out in the documentation with these
types of disparities. ReiserFS v4 is only about 100% slower than JFS, but
even that is significantly worse than any other commonly used filesystem.
