I am using DVB-Kernel cvs from last night. There was an update last night to
fix these drivers, so its possible the bad driver made it into 2.6.10..

OK, I just did a test run with the cvs version. Still no luck.

I just had a look at myth with a debugger, to see when the tuning-frenzy starts. This happens right after the first iocntl to setup the frontend (dvbchannel.cpp:1371) and keeps on going even when the debugger keeps myth stopped. So something else after that iocntl must keep on triggering the tuning function. I'm going to to have a look at what's going on inside the kernel now, maybe I find something odd.
I'm still wondering why other applications work, though.
