Over the last 2 weeks, my mythbackend process grew from 30M to over 300M. Nothing new there, it's been reported before. What's really annoying though, was that when I restarted it, I got back over 80Gb of free space. That means that at least 40 deleted or expired programs were being held open by the process. Now, near as I can tell, the autoexpire code never opens any files, the leak must be somewhere else.
Here's a sample of the expire related log messages 2005-01-16 10:50:44 Running AutoExpire: Want 1 Gigs free but only have 0. 2005-01-16 10:50:44 AutoExpiring: CSI: Crime Scene Investigation Fri Jan 7 20:00:00 2005 1790 MBytes 2005-01-16 10:50:44 WARNING: Not enough space freed, only 0 Gigs free but need 1. 2005-01-16 12:10:43 Running AutoExpire: Want 1 Gigs free but only have 0. 2005-01-16 12:10:45 AutoExpiring: Medical Investigation Fri Jan 7 22:00:00 2005 1839 MBytes 2005-01-16 12:10:45 WARNING: Not enough space freed, only 0 Gigs free but need 1. 2005-01-16 14:10:44 Expiring "Stargate SG-1" from 2005-01-10T19:00:00, too many episodes. 2005-01-16 14:10:44 autoexpire: Last message repeated 43 times 2005-01-16 14:10:44 autoexpire: Expired program 2005-01-16 18:50:42 Running AutoExpire: Want 1 Gigs free but only have 0. 2005-01-16 18:50:42 AutoExpiring: Malcolm in the Middle Sat Jan 8 14:30:00 2005 1134 MBytes 2005-01-16 18:50:42 autoexpire: Expired Program 2005-01-16 18:50:42 WARNING: Not enough space freed, only 0 Gigs free but need 1. 2005-01-16 19:20:41 Running AutoExpire: Want 1 Gigs free but only have 0. 2005-01-16 19:20:41 AutoExpiring: Malcolm in the Middle Sat Jan 8 15:00:00 2005 1148 MBytes 2005-01-16 19:20:41 WARNING: Not enough space freed, only 0 Gigs free but need 1. 2
