I don't think its that the box is busy with something else, as I don't have the DVR version. Mine is just a cable-box. I'm beginning to think that its probably in the linux drivers for this, either the ieee1394 drivers themselves, the raw1394, or the libiec61883. I get this behavior, as I said, with the test-mpeg2 utility outside of myth.
I hooked the box up to my laptop and windows XP and used drivers I found on the AVS forums. I get a capture everytime I ask for it with that, so I'm even more convinced it must be on the communication layer in linux. -Todd -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Tom Harding Sent: Monday, February 07, 2005 12:26 PM To: Development of mythtv Subject: Re: [mythtv] New ieee1394 code and DCT-6200 Todd -- I see similar behavior. My suspicion was (is) that the cable box is being choosy about when to make a signal available. For example, I think it doesn't output anything if it's recording anything itself on either of its two tuners. To verify this, I am looking for another device to use for snooping the firewire bus when the Myth box is getting nothing. I would be happy to learn that this is actually caused by bugs in the Myth stack somewhere. -Tom Motorola DCT-6412 on firewire Node 1 in Palo Alto, CA.
