Hey, it was working before; you broke it.  ;)

I at least showed you what you need to fix to get it working again.
What I've got now will keep the wife happy, so I'm happy.  I'm also
willing to maintain my own fork with this patch until a better fix is
in place.

Sorry, ETIMEDOUT on a "correct" fix for this.
