This patch allows you to select between 1 and 8 threads for ffmpeg to split into while encoding mpeg-4. I've been running this on FC1/.15 since the middle of last year, quite a remarkable improvement for SMP machines.

I recently upgraded to FC3/.17 on the same box and the results aren't quite as spectacular (and not very easy to monitor the way 2.6 lists processes). If anyone knows why it's not as good on the new platform let me know :(

Thanks,
Debabrata
