Subtitling/Teletext/CC support is not very well integrated into Mythtv. For analog cards, some vbi-stuff is added in the nuppelvideoplayer/recorder code, but only suitable for non-PVR cards. For "digital" sources (PVRxxx or DVB) nothing is avaiable yet. Based on some experimental patches posted some months ago, I started to implement the vbi stuff for PVR/IVTV cards (ready soon). As the patches were originally based on DVB PID vbi detection, I think I can restore some of this (I threw out the DVB decoding in the first place ;-) I think we should aim for a single vbidecoder class which should handle the /dev/vbi (non-PVR), embedded vbi (PVR) or vbi PID (DVB) streams, depending on the card selected. An additional OSD overlay is available for the subtiltes/teletext/CC presentations. I expect to post some of my findings the comings weeks. Martin
