I have to agree that it is a little annoying to get stuck in the frozen blank screen. I normally frantically hit the esc key on my keyboard and I eventually get out, but a screen that states that we couldn't get any data after say 10 (or some configurable amount of) seconds would be a major improvement IMO.
That said, I am going to watch the recordings my baby did for me while I was busy tonight.
