I try this list too, have tried mythtv-user without luck!
I have a CVS compiled version of MythTV 0.17 and almost everything is working as it should.
The only problem I have is that when I watch live tv or watch recorded shows all the colors on the picture seems to be moved up about 1 cm ( is about 0.4 inch) on the screen. I don't know how to explain it better, when I look at the picture it looks like a black and white picture at the bottom of the screen and the rest has all mixed up colors. It's like the illumination and color information is not align when outputted to the screen. This apply both to the picture and to the GUI.
I can't see that there is any problem with the colors when using any other part of system (menus, mythmusic, program guide etc).
Anybody else seen this and know how to fix it?
Don't know if this is it but this used to be common if an odd height was used for recording. It should be a multiple of 4 or 8 and the settings screen should enforce this. But, really, you should only use 480 or 240 for NTSC or 576 or 288 for PAL so that it records all the scan lines in the field evenly.
nVidia driver version 6111
Probably not a good choice as this had some limitations and problems. The latest driver, 7167, apparently has lots of bugs. Poor video timing and dumbed down overscan were show stoppers for me but there are other problems that people have reported. 6629 is probably your best choice.

Thanks for your reply!
I have checked the settings for recording and it is set to 576 since I use PAL.
I also checked the version for the nVidia driver and it is 6629 (not 6111 as I first thought).
I installed mythgallery today and I am getting perfect picture and colors.
I think the problem might be related to mythtv playback engine. The problem started when I upgraded to version 0.17. And all old recorded shows have the same problem when watched in the latest version so I do not think it is related to the recording part.

I might be one step close to a solution. Today when I tried to playback a .vob file (ripped from one of own DVD's) I noticed then I have the same problem with them. The .VOB file is play-backed using mplayer so if I have the same problem with it, I can't blame mythtv.
My question is: What library is used for playback of mpeg2 and mpeg4 content in both mythtv and mplayer?
If I find out what library is used and updated it, it might solve my problem :)
