Thanks for the very helpful responses. My wife has threatened my anatomy it I touch our production system again. So I'm building two new ones. I'm going to use the Fedora Core 4 for the GCC 4.0 box. But what distributions would depend on 2.95.3? I'll build one of those specifically instead of just installing 2.x on fedora or gentoo.
