You can use QRegExp along with QString to write a search and replace
function. But if you come up with a regular expression I can translate
it to a C loop in a few minutes time.

Me thinks I could do that as well - but I've gotten lazy after writing too many PHP scripts :-)


I think we both agree that weird screen artifacts are bad, if I was
snippy it was only because you sent the patch a couple days before
the 0.18 release.

From day 1 I ventured into submitting patches, I've worn my asbestos suit
:-) In this case, just because it was such a tiny patch, I didn't think the near deadline would be a problem.

If you parse out all the tags we don't use and it is not too many lines
of code, I'll personally commit it and take any heat for it :).

I'll have a look at it tonight. Do I interpret "all the tags we don't use" as "we don't use any tags", or as "we use a few", or as "we don't use any, but feel free to replace <br/> by newlines (as they have not other visual formatting)" ?
