Is it me (or my machine), or do some of the "better" mythmusic visualizations (Goom, synaesthesia, bumpscope) seem to lag the playback music by 1/2 - 3/4 of a second? Mad props to the folks who wrote Goom....it's an awesome visualization, but it doesn't seem to get along real well with slower machines.

Configuration: Playing MP3s in the 160-192kbit range, 1GHz PIII, 512MB, ATI 3D Rage IIC AGP (w/Vanilla kernel driver & XFree86 4.3.0).

I also noticed that Goom likes to segfault mythfrontend when played in full-screen mode for any more than a minute or so, but runs fine when in the mythmusic window. I've read from a while back that this is a CPU problem, which I can believe since mythfrontend uses 80% and XFree86 uses the additional 20 when running in full-screen mode. I'm presuming a half-decent NVIDIA card with the NVIDIA hardware-accelerated driver would resolve this though. Any thoughts about the lag though, or am I the only one?

TIA,
Eric

P.S. -- Awesome software package. Everyone drools over it whenever I have guests.
