This is the same thing that was happening to me which caused me to post the message on Apr 22: "Re: [mythtv] XVideo XvMC merge patch (v17)". I just noticed this solution late yesterday, too. However, I can still set the overscan to 1 or 2 percent if I move the vertical displacement down 1 or 2. Thanks for the info/confirmation.
