Right. There's some benefit to that, I'm just not sure if it's worth the extra time those queries would then take, especially if the frontend were made to use 'em.
Although, one _could_ also argue that other projects should just use libmyth/libmythtv instead of reimplementing things from scratch, too. Granted, the requirements are slightly heavy for tiny systems, but there's a reason that those things are in libraries in the first place.
This one kept coming up with mythweb quite a lot in the past. I think one of the particular issues (in mythweb) was trying to recode the recording priority stuff in the web bit (probably I mis-remember, but the point is the same).
Surely with the exception of the SQL one the other bits certainly look sane and could be argued to be abstracting some functionality into one place? Or did I just miss the point?
