Heh, yeah, correction, the --target i386 versus i686 was on Jesse's box. I tried similarly with i386 versus athlon though, results are pretty much the same.

I also tested the i386 vs i686 packages. I saw no difference on my
system, where i"m trying to squeeze every last bit of performance out to
be able to do hd playback. I am going to try the proc_opt soon, just
ran out of free time lately.

Still have to try proc_opt myself...
