Perhaps I'm misunderstanding you.

Myth TV has a record types for kOverrideRecord and kDontRecord. These modify a single showing of something that matches a recurring rule. An override can not only say to record the show if it is Previously recorded, Earlier or Later Showing, Conflict, Repeat, Inactive or whatever but it also allows setting special attributes for that one showing such as extra end time, a different profile or priority, etc.
