Is anyone using the BOB deinterlacer with SD material? If so, what
modeline are you using?

I have a Sony XBR700, which a 4:3 TV capable of displaying 1080i material.

I have been happily using a 1920x540p+BOB to display all of my HD
content. In my testing, 1920x540p+BOB produces a better picture than
1920x1080i.

Recently I purchased a PVR-500 and have setup an old 1.8GHz Celeron
(Pentium3 based) as a slave backend.

Since I am using 540p+BOB for HD, I wanted to use 240p+BOB for SD. I
have tried using a modeline generator, and I have also tried playing
around with these:

## Doug's
ModeLine "240p" 13.494 720 736 800 856 240 242 246 263

## Cory's
Modeline "coryntsci" 14.350 720 760 824 912 480 484 492 525 interlace

But my TV does not like any 240 line mode I throw at it. The bottom
3/4 of the screen looks okay, but the top 1/4 is warped over to the
left.

I have been able to craft 720x480p and 640x480p modelines which work
reasonably well. The 720x480p has too much overscan, but the 640x480p
is actually very good.

To use the 640x480p modeline, I would want to use KERNELDEINT,
wouldn't I? If I wanted to use BOB for HD, and KERNELDEINT for SD, I
would have to add an option to Myth to allow different deinterlacers
based on resolution, right?

Am I going about this all wrong?

Thanks,

John
