And, after talking with Chris about mythweb a bit, I think that last commit
of mine may have fixed the issue. Hopefully. Maybe?

I got the latest CVS, and I was just able to have the backend record and start comm flagging without crashing. In the past, it would crash right after the recording finished and before comm flagging started.

So, with *one* data point, it looks good so far! ;-)
