Thanks for the tip. I should have known better. I noticed the
various posts about this earlier but somehow didn't connect it up with
this problem. Turning on OpenGL video sync indeed eliminates the
jumpiness quite nicely...

It did not do anything for me (enabled both OpenGL video sync and xvmc) -
still jumping.

If I switch "Deinterlaced playback" from "Bob" to something else – the
jumping disappear. Is there a bug in the Bob algorithm?
