the emulator list was not empty.
it happned by adding a new one...

Hrm,
So just to be clear, does this happen when you are editing an existing
emulator or a when adding a new one? Does it happen everytime ?
The Type should default to the first entry in the list which is "Other".
I just tried this on a fresh myth install with an empty database and
on a machine with other emulators already defined and it worked as expected.
