Subject: [linux-dvb] MHEG downloading Date: Tuesday 30 August 2005 14:20 From: Simon Kilvington <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: [email protected] -----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi, I've written some code that will download the MHEG data that is broadcast on DVB channels. This is the "Red Button" interactive TV stuff here in the UK. The code is GPL'ed and is available here: http://www.redbutton.dsl.pipex.com/ It only implements a subset of the whole DSM-CC specs. However, it is enough to download everything that is currently being broadcast on the 'Freeview' DVB-T channels in the UK. Once the data is downloaded, you'll need to write your own browser/app to display it! As well as PNG files, you get two types of data. Channel 4 broadcast teletext infomation in an HTML type format, except the tags are things like <pages> and the text contain some escape sequences followed by what look like terminal control codes. The BBC broadcast data that is encoded in ASN.1 format. You can get more info about MHEG here: http://www.interactivetvweb.org/ - -- Simon Kilvington _______________________________________________ mythtv-dev mailing list [email protected] http://mythtv.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/mythtv-dev
