(Sorry for attempting to post this multiple time.)

I was just thinking about that today, how strange. I have been working on implenting a LTSP configuration at my office for our hp t5525 thin clients and just spent some time redirecting displays with them. They are too expensive $400 each for this purpose. Problem with LTSP is that X and the other stuff  takes about 55mb of ram.  So if you go the path of mvpmc (not sure if they already have this included or not) I found this uClibc X server http://www.pps.jussieu.fr/~jch/software/kdrive.html

Does anyone know if mythfrontend can connect to remote display? Inheirently it should be able to, I beleive this is an OS thing. Also not sure if kdrive supports remote connections. Anyway, I attempted this quickly on my desktop machine and was unable to connect.

On client machine did a quick test
# service iptables stop
# xhost +
# ssh mythserver
# export DISPLAY=192.168.0.10:0.0
# mythfrontend

No dice, unable to connect to X server ....

I tried to connect with another program and was unable to connect with that either. I'll keep at it.

Thanks for your response - what do u think is the most viable way of
getting as much of the mythfrontend to work on the MVP ? Developing mvpmc
further ? or could something clever be done with exporting displays from
another box ? getting some kind of mythfrontend server that the mvpmc
could connect to ? Or just waiting to see if a higher spec MVP comes onto
the market ?

Cheers
Liam
