Do people run mythtv-setup that often anyway?
I have the machine running my frontend launch mythtv-setup when it first goes into X, before entering a loop of re-launching mythfrontend. I found this was quite handy when I was adding channels/cards and could configure by just rebooting the machine or restarting the X server. My backend is launched as a service, outside X.
