The IRC frequency standard used by many cable systems differs

Patch is for 0.18.1, but would be easy to update for other versions... Only problem with actually committing the change would be that it may encourage more people to use Trac for RFE's. On second thought if all the "RFE without a patch, marking as invalid" comments aren't noticed, maybe people won't notice one actually getting a fix, either.

Hmm. This looks like a slightly offset version of HRC, is that the case?
Actually, IRC is basically standard (standard + 0.0125MHz) but with channels 5 and 6 offset. I guess, though, that since HRC is a slightly offset version of standard (with channels 5 and 6 differently offset from the others), we can say it your way because of the commutative property. :)

Seriously, though, the definition provided in the patch is identical to the definition of us-cable except for channels 5 and 6, so I don't know if there's a more efficient means of representing IRC than with a whole new 133-element CHANLIST array (or, for that matter, if we should even worry about whether there is).

Well, Chris's post made me feel guilty for posting a reference to the 0.18.1 patch with an assurance that it would be easy to update to different versions without actually doing the easy update myself, so I reopened the ticket with an updated patch. I figure the time I spend updating the patch will probably be less than the time people will spend teaching users whose cable-companies use IRC to fine-tune channels 5 & 6 on the lists...
