you try adding -L/path/to/where/libXvMCW.a is?
It's in /usr/X11R6/lib which doesn't seem out of place. I have that path
in /etc/ld/so.conf, I added
LIBS += -L/usr/X11R6/lib
to the Makefile, still no joy.
