I know basic C/C++, but not everyone does. Fixing a compile problem could be very easy - or perhaps not. My perception is that it's good to have non-technical (from a programming sense) users that are willing (perhaps have a test system or no wife / kids ;-) ) to test. That point could be argued. I do agree with the 'make distclean; ./configure; make' though. I should have said that. I forgot because I rebuild the every time anyway since I package my own SVN RPMs... I also read the mythtv-commits list religiously and don't have a test machine - which is why I haven't used SVN in quite some time. :-) -b
