No, i'm not using leterbox (i think). I have a wide screen tv, the frontend a epia box is set to use 720x576. When i watch a 4:3 recording i get black bars at the right and left. At this point, the osd menu looks fine, all the menu entries fit. If i change to a recording from my dvb card that is in 16:9, normal wide screen, no black bars. At this point what i get is a picture with black borders at the right and left and the image looks stretched verticaly. To fix this i always have to go to the osd menu and change aspect ratio manualy to 16:9. No matter if i change aspect manualy to 16:9 in the menu or not the text for the menu entries are too fat so all of the text does not fit, for example "Change Aspect Rat" and "Commercial Auto-" >> Don't know if this has anything to do with it, but the frontend does >> not change aspect by itself so i have to use the menu to change >> aspect ratio to 16:9 > A letterbox mode then? > If you count black borders at the right and left a leter box mode, then yes. > What is the aspect ratio of the source video and which "16:9" > letterbox mode did you select exactly. > > -- Daniel The problem is with 16:9 recordings, no black borders at all. _______________________________________________ mythtv-dev mailing list [email protected] http://mythtv.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/mythtv-dev
