Hi folks, I tried a new SVN version (8088) and hoped that all the live TV changes would improve the unreliable channel tuning I was fighting with before. However, it doesn't.
The symtoms are the following: sometimes when tuning to a channel, the frontend gives output like this: 2005-12-03 11:38:20.132 AFD: Opened codec 0x8a52ed0, id(MPEG2VIDEO) type(Video) 2005-12-03 11:38:20.132 AFD: Opened codec 0x8a52b70, id(MP3) type(Audio) 2005-12-03 11:38:20.134 AFD: Opened codec 0x8a524d0, id(AC3) type(Audio) 2005-12-03 11:38:20.175 Prebuffer wait timed out 10 times. 2005-12-03 11:38:20.229 AFD: Initializing video at 720x576 pixels. It will hang now, pressing escape doesn't work. I have to restart the frontend. After this, tuning to the same channel ususally works. This occures with several channels on different transports at a random pattern. Recordings doesn't seem to be affected, only live TV, at least I can not remeber of any recent failed recordings. My card is an old WinTV Nova-T PCI, the kernel is a plain 2.6.14-rc5. The problem also occured with the SVN versions before the live TV changes and with older kernel versions. I use the DVB-T broadcasted in Berlin, Germany. Are there any things I should try? What verbosity options should I enable to give further information from the log files? Regards, Tino
