Maybe 3 years ago this statement was true, but it isn't now. ffmpeg can real-time encode [EMAIL PROTECTED] to MPEG2-PS without a problem on a modern PC. Heck, I can can even decode mpeg2 and convert it to very high quality xvid faster than real time with plenty of CPU left to do other things on my machine.

Perhaps I should have said:real-time MPEG-2 encoding isn't possible *in Myth* with software encoding capture cards. I know nothing of the technical details of why this is the case.
