I have indeed, quite a lot of them and I have always taken the closed status to mean that: "I will not look at this any more". But I guess I have been wrong 25 years then. Sorry for the misunderstanding. > > I had the same problem here when using Xorg 6.9.0 but didn't really find > > a solution, downgrading to the previous Xorg version made everything fine > > again. > > Which version are you using? > > 7.0, whatever the current ubuntu/dapper is. That's what I thought, but what I told is an empirical fact: MythTV deinterlacing on my (not very good) Prosavage8 works fine with 6.8.2, but not with 6.9/7.0. Could of course have something to do with XV not really working in 6.8.2 (despite claimed support). In 6.8.9 it does work though, but then I get the deinterlacing issues. And they are exactly the same as the original reporter said: No effect whatsoever deinterlacing method you choose. Asking XV to "deinterlace" (XV_VERTICAL_INTERPOLATION) made the picture watchable, but wasn't really that good , especially since it created a too high CPU load . But anyway it doesn't seem to be an isolated problem.
