This might be a config issue.  What screen size and bitrate are you  
telling Myth to use for the card (and what tv standard is it  
receiving, ntsc, pal, etc).  Once it gets set by Myth, all subsequent  
recordings on the same card would be recorded at the same settings,  
but a reboot would set them back to defaults.
