If you want to preserve the menus then you need to clone the entire
disk (or contents of video_ts).
http://vobcopy.org/ will do a clone (-m option) including all the IFO files.

        Audio is pretty tiny. I would think that stripping that would not
be worth the trouble. As far as shrinking DVDs and keeping everything intact
there is a win32 app called dvdshrink. I also found this script on the web
although I have not tested it yet:

Audio's not necessarily tiny. A typical AC3 5.1 track is 448 kbps IIRC, which amounts to about 400 MB for 2 hours. A typical DTS track is 754 kbps which is almost 700 MB for 2 hours.
