There are several different chips for mpeg decoding.
I have two different MPEG4 playing devices (Neuston MC500 media centre & Philips DVP642P DVD player)
They both play most mpeg4 files, most of the ones that won't play usee some of the more dubios settings like QPEL and the like.

Yeah, AFAIK, the chip that (all?) of them use for hardware mpeg4 decoding can only decode a subset of the mpeg4 spec, which, as I recall, includes divx 3 and 4 but not 5, and not XviD.

If it's anything like my DivX DVD player, then just pop the file in the
root of the disk. I get a file browser menu to select what I want to play.
I've heard that the xvid avi's output by nuvexport don't work with these. I'd be curious to work with someone to get this functional (since I'd like to get one of them someday).
