Arrogant or not, the fact that your government pushes HDTV does mean that you will be able to enjoy it by next year. Here in Europe there is no such effort and it seems we will have to wait a few more years (2007/2008 is mentioned...). Of course this gives us the benefit of open recorders like MythTV.
