The VP cards work (I'm using one here in Aus), but can be a PITA to get working. The first MythTV system I built used KnoppMyth R4V4.1 and it took me several days to get a picture out of the card (the first time is always the hardest). I started off with Nigel Pearson's guide here: http://mysettopbox.tv/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=6977&sid=a32ff5510e5065fc5459b3d147277c0d and stuck with the 2.4 kernel.

Can you shed any light about drivers for this card?
The VisionPlus that Scan have?
As far as I know they are supported. I haven't actually got any yet but I am going to be ordering some soon unless I discover some reason why I shouldn't.
They seem to more popular in Australia than here from what I've seen
so they should work - people have certainly mentioned them on this
list. They are listed at http://www.linuxtv.org/download/dvb/CARDS
as well.
I had some reception issues with it though. So I called an antenna guy in who said our signal is ok and recommended purchasing a Teac STB. When I got the STB, I realised that the reception issues were only partially due to environment and mostly due to my setup. So I rebuilt my system with KnoppMyth R4V5 and upgraded the kernel to 2.6.9 which resolved the reception issues nicely. I wrote a description of what I did to get it going under 2.4 here: http://pvrguide.no-ip.com/bbs/index.php?showtopic=4472&hl=. I'm going to write another guide that explains how to getting it working using 2.6 kernel.
I can't really comment on the Hauppauge cards as I haven't used one. They do seem to have the best support though. How does it compare to a Hauppauge Nova-T as I have the non-remote on
backorder with Scan, but these seen allot cheaper.
The next card I will try is the DVico Fusion HDTV. I'm not in a great reception area (at the bottom of a valley out of sight of our transmitter), and people have been reporting that the DVico cards have a very strong tuner which out-performs many set top boxes.
Indeed. It's hard to justify paying for the Hauppage, Nebula orOne thing to consider, is the Twinhan card doesn't have hardware decoding. I'm not sure if the others do though. The AMD 2800+ system I'm using seems to handle a HDTV signal ok (although I haven't checked out the CPU utilisation).
Pinnacle cards if the Twinhan one is going to work. The others might
have better Windows software but I don't care about that.
If reception is a real problem, I'd be considering the DVico. But I really don't know how well the other cards work in comparison. My main concern is actually which card is going to cope best with a poor signal - my old Pioneer OnDigital box has a lot of trouble with one of the Muxes and I'm hoping that a modern card will be a bit better.
