Some of my recordings recently started not having any sound. Two
shows recorded in a row the first one has sound and the second one
does not.

Also if I go into live TV sometimes I don't get any sound until I
switch channels and then I get sound. I upgraded a few things
recently which must have caused this problem.

I have AMD 2500, Asus A7N8x motherboard, 512MB, Chaintech 64MB AGP
GeForce 4 MX 440 w/S-Video out, Hauppauge WinTV PVR-250
I have Fedora Core 1 installed with the following ivtv,

rpm -qa |grep ivtv
kernel-module-ivtv-2.4.22-1.2199.nptl_52.rhfc1.at-0.1.10-48.4_pre2
_ck100zz.rhfc1.at
ivtv-firmware-enc-2.04.024-4.at
ivtv-firmware-1.8a-4.at
ivtv-0.1.10-48.4_pre2_ck100zz.rhfc1.at
perl-Video-ivtv-0.13-6.rhfc1.at
ivtv-firmware-dec-2.02.023-4.at

My modules.conf only has the following in it for ivtv,

alias char-major-81 videodev
alias char-major-81-0 ivtv

I tried with and without this stuff in the modules.conf and it did not
seem to matter,

options ivtv ivtv_debug=1 mpg_buffers=90
options tuner type=2 # NTSC tuner
options msp3400 once=1 simple=1
add below ivtv msp3400 saa7115 tuner

Any suggestions?

Yes - check the archive. This has been asked many times over the last few
months.

I'm the original poster in your tinyurl link. Even though it's been asked and answered many times, and I've applied the fix (alias msp3400 msp3400-ivtv), I'm also still getting some recordings that have no sound. If anyone has further suggestions, I'd like to hear them too. Thanks.
