I can help a little - I'm working on FC2 also. With the assumption that the mysql client is the same version as the daemon, use the "-V" switch for mysql: [EMAIL PROTECTED] init.d]$ mysql -V mysql Ver 11.18 Distrib 3.23.58, for redhat-linux-gnu (i386) I'm attaching my mysqld from /etc/init.d; it should be what comes with FC2. -Rob On Wed, 22 Dec 2004 12:36:53 -0600, Byron Williams <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > > > I running Fedora Core 2 using Jarod's guide > > > > I was having trouble with mySQL starting on its own.
