I finally found out about irrecord. Part of the file created is attached. As you can see, quite a few of the codes are the same. It also grumbled about the toggle bit being invalid, no matter what speed I pressed a button at the end.

Sounds like you are using an incorrect lircd.conf for your remote. Can you
try irrecord to see what it generates and compare that to your lircd.conf
file?
