I agree completely with the sentiments of that posting. It is possible, but somewhat involved. Mine's a G550 and I run it under X. There's no XV on the tv-out, so you need a decent processor to do everything in software. Also no DMA, so you can only get 16 bit colour due to PCI bandwidth, but you can get perfectly smooth video and the results are pretty good generally. There are some TV-out patches to X for G450 out there somewhere (google for them), you might make progress with those. I use a somewhat re- written version of matrox-tvout, written by Shaun Jackman. The last version he published is on freshmeat, but he's got more recent stuff than that if you mail him. It's written for the G550, but should be hackable for G450. Cheers, Martin.
