Just got down to this post in the list and thought I'd shoot you
another email in case you haven't got it working yet do this...

apt-get update

apt-get remove yum

apt-get dist-upgrade

rpm -Uvh 
http://atrpms.net/dist/fc3/atrpms-kickstart/atrpms-kickstart-25-1.rhfc3.at.i386.rpm

Continue on from step 6

Due to recent dependency failures on yum this workaround is necessary.
Everything else in the guide should work fine.
