I had a similar problem to the one you are having but I was getting 
error 510.  The problem was that the channel source files (.xmltv - 
probably in /root/.mythtv) were missing from /.mythtv.

It may be worth checking what is in this folder and copying in the 
relevant .xmltv files....this resolved my issue.
