Playing DVDs works fine. I didn't bother with mplayer, because I already had xine installed on the box, and I knew it worked. Putting the command "xine --auto-play=f --auto-scan dvd" into Myth gives full-screen playback with menus and a working remote. So, I know the drive is working fine and /dev/dvd is pointing to the right place.
There's something messed up with either transcode or mplayer or the supporting files. From both mplayer and transcode I get the errors
Playing dvd://3. libdvdread: Using libdvdcss version 1.2.8 for DVD access libdvdread: Could not open /dev/dvd with libdvdcss. libdvdread: Can't open /dev/dvd for reading Couldn't open DVD device: /dev/dvd
This is with the atrpms install of myth-suite.
