I discovered the errors are because those lines are missing from the original config. I made a backup before the restore :). Anyway after the restore I still get no sound for dvds. I installed xine and when I play in 5.1 mode I get music and sound effects, but no voices. If I play in passthrough I get nothing. I am running 2.6.8-1.521 if that makes a difference. I also uninstalled and reinstalled alsa using apt-get. Arghhhhh!!!
thanks. -Gregg On Thu, 6 Jan 2005 15:26:55 -0800, Gregg <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > Duhh ;) I ran alsactl -v and it said "alsactl version 1.0.7" I then > did the resore and got this... > > /usr/sbin/alsactl --file ~/asound.state restore > /usr/sbin/alsactl: set_control:797: warning: numid mismatch (44/46) > for control#44 > /usr/sbin/alsactl: set_control:797: warning: numid mismatch (45/47) > for control#45 > /usr/sbin/alsactl: set_control:805: warning: name mismatch (Phone > Playback Switch/PC Speaker Playback Switch) for control #46 > /usr/sbin/alsactl: set_control:805: warning: name mismatch (Phone > Playback Volume/PC Speaker Playback Volume) for control #47 > /usr/sbin/alsactl: set_control:805: warning: name mismatch (Mic > Playback Switch/Phone Playback Switch) for control #48 > /usr/sbin/alsactl: set_control:805: warning: name mismatch (Mic > Playback Volume/Phone Playback Volume) for control #49 > /usr/sbin/alsactl: set_control:805: warning: name mismatch (Mic Boost > (+20dB)/Mic Playback Switch) for control #50 > /usr/sbin/alsactl: set_control:805: warning: name mismatch (Line > Playback Switch/Mic Playback Volume) for control #51 > /usr/sbin/alsactl: set_control:892: bad control.51.value type > > > On Wed, 5 Jan 2005 12:53:43 -0800, Gregg Farhat <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > I have ver 1.0.7, I will try the restore tomorrow night, along with > > the change in the asoundrc.
