I am having some problems with my mythtv configuration.  I have the following:

ATI Radeon 7000 PCI (has both a svga out and a DVI out) (using radeon driver)

Panasonic 42” HDTV (TH-42XVS30)

Running on:

Fedora Core 2

The TV has an svga port and an HDMI port.  I have a DVI to HDMI adapter.  The svga port supports all kinds of resolutions at all kinds of refreshrate, but the HDMI port only supports 480p and 1080i modes.  When I connect the computer to the HDMI, I can only seem to get the two resolutions but I can’t seem to adjust the settings to fit the screen.  The 480p mode seems to work ok (though it is quite overscanned), but the 1080i mode has a really weird resolution that makes everything appear very skinny (fonts, splash screens, etc).  When xine plays in full screen mode with a normal dvd, it only takes up a small portion of the screen with large black bars on the sides and the images are all distorted (very tall and skinny).

What I was hoping is that someone on this list has a similar TV from Panasonic and has the modeline that I should use.  If someone has this TV (or a similar one) working with another display adapter, I would probably be willing to try that as well.  I have tried the powerstrip route to setup the timings, but I can’t find anything in powerstrip that the driver (I’m guessing the ati driver) supports.

Any help would be appreciated.

John
