I've been having a hell of a time getting VLC to compile. I've used the ./configure options above (with the correct path for my ffmpeg tree) but get the following error: checking mpeg2dec/mpeg2.h usability... no checking mpeg2dec/mpeg2.h presence... no checking for mpeg2dec/mpeg2.h... no configure: error: Could not find libmpeg2 on your system: you may get it from http://libmpeg2.sf.net/ (you need the cvs version). Alternatively you can use --disable-libmpeg2 to disable the libmpeg2 plugin. I can swear I have libmpeg2 on my system ... [EMAIL PROTECTED] vlc-0.8.1]# rpm -qa mpeg2dec mpeg2dec-0.4.0-5b.1.fc2.rf I am under the assumption that the mpeg2dec package gives libmpeg2 [EMAIL PROTECTED] vlc-0.8.1]# locate libmpeg2.so.0 /usr/lib/libmpeg2.so.0 /usr/lib/libmpeg2.so.0.0.0 I've tried to define a path to libmpeg2... Can anyone help out this compiling newbie? Do I even need it, or can I throw it out in the configure line...? Egads, I'd love to use MythstreamTV. Geoff
