seems RH 9 is still doing the rounds (which means I'll have to try find
the disks!)
I had a RH 9 system with a software-based bttv card (ATI Wonder VE) and it was rock-solid. We're talking up to a month without a crash/issue. And I would even upgrade to current CVS every two-three weeks.
I just rebuilt my system with FC3 and a new hardware-based encoder card (Avermedia M179 - just like the PVR-250) and have been very happy. Again, long uptimes with solid performance.
I would recommend a PVR-250 with FC3. Jarod's guide also makes setup of this system a breeze.
