Hello, I have had this annoying, and 100% reproducible problem:
If the mythtv front-end cannot open the ALSA audio device (e.g. it is in use by another application), then not only does the frontend die, but the backend (on another computer) commits suicide, too. Has anyone else had this problem? This is mythtv 0.16-1, the Debian packages. I can live with the fact the frontend dies (a user friendly error message might be better), but it should not crash the backend. Also another related issue: If the backend is restarted, any frontends still running come up with an error message the next time it tries to access the backend. One the second attempt it works. It would be nice, IMHO, if it tried to reopen the connection with the backend first before displaying this (potentially confusing) error. -- Brian May <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
