I'm considering getting a LCD or VFD for my MythBox, but I have a few questions first:

1. Does MythLCD support graphical LCDs/VFDs? I saw a few posts back in February (http://tinyurl.com/6qe2l) where somebody was working on this, but I can't find a real follow-up.

It uses LCDProc, which supports graphical displays. However, in the current version of Myth, you only get text output. (Well, I guess, technically, progress bars are graphical.)

2. What sort of information can I expect on the display in Live TV? in Recorded TV? in MythMusic? in MythVideo?

For live and recorded TV, it displays the current TV channel name, and program and episode name (scrolling). For Music, it shows the song/artist and has a progress bar showing the time left in the song. I haven't used it with Video, but I'm sure it must be pretty similar.

When not actively showing any video, it puts a clock in the VFD. It can also indicate where you are in Myth's menu structure. (I only have a 2-line display, so there might be more info on larger displays.)

Overall, I really like the feature, and it works almost perfectly. (I have to submit a patch one of these days, because my display likes to show an extra L-shaped progress-bar remnant when I watch live TV.)

3. I checked my install (FC2 - atrpms), but mythlcd isn't there. Where can it be downloaded?

You have to download the CVS version and build it yourself, with the LCD option enabled.
